Good Old Europe - Madrid, Stockholm, Dublin
My trip continues through good old Europe. Two new destinations: Stockholm and Dublin, are on the itinerary. Currently I spend a nice weekend in sunny yet chilly (windy!) Stockholm. A beautiful city.
Also promising for business, a tight schedule meeting prospects on Tuesday (Monday is holiday - 1st of May, how European!)
The Million Dollar Coup!
This is a cool way to make a million dollars:
www.milliondollarhomepage.comThese guys sell (sold) each pixel of this page for $1. At 1M pixels, they earned $1 Million in total.
Why would anybody buy pixels there? Well, we're part of this right now. By linking to their page, the page gets a high organic Google search ranking. By advertising, the page rank also "spills over" to the rank of the sponsor's URL, since it is a homepage link (which is more valuable than others).
So this is just another cool business model based on Google's search algorithm.
Hardware Commoditization
Shopping gadgets in Singapore - I liked the "Why pay for China designed products with USA designed prices" tag.
I purchased a tablet PC (HP TC4200) as my new laptop computer, celebrating the mobile life- and workstyle.
Will need some days to transfer all data and apps, but so far it looks really promising.
Keep moving
Seoul (South Korea; Picture), Sydney (Australia) and Singapore were the next stops on my trip to drum up business in Asia-Pacific. So far, a successful and enjoyable journey, with lots of new and old faces, sympathetic to our endeavors at db4objects.
Cherry Blossom in Japan
A great week in Japan, both for business and for some leisure. Cherry blossom was full underway and Juan and I spent some nice days in Tokyo, Kyoto, Hakone, and Nikko.
Now I'm in Seoul, Korea, and on my way onwards to Sydney.
